CALL FOR SUBMISSION

Will Martin, IAAE President Elect, invites submission of contributions for the International Conference of Agricultural Economists 2015. These submissions may include Contributed Papers, Organized Symposia, Innovative Proposals, and Pre- and Post-Conference Workshops.

The deadline for all submissions is November 5, 2014. Corresponding authors will be informed of the outcome of the review and selection process by March 15, 2015.

Before submitting your contribution, please create a user account using this link to the conference web site.

CONTRIBUTED PAPERS

Donald MacLaren will manage the contributed papers process. The contributed papers will be reviewed on a double-blind basis. The author must indicate whether she/he would prefer to make an Oral, a Visual presentation, or either of these formats.
The Contributed Paper sessions require submission of a full paper. All manuscripts should be anonymous, written in American English, submitted in PDF format and should generally not exceed 30 pages. This limit includes reference lists, figures, and tables. Please use 12-point Times New Roman normal margins, and 1.5 line spacing. Your manuscript should include a title page with a maximum 150 words abstract. To prepare your manuscript please use the guidelines  included in this link
Please note that presenters of papers must be IAAE Members. Each presenter may be a coauthor of a number of Contributed Paper submissions, but may only make one Oral Presentation and/or only one Visual Presentation.
Scholars living and working in developing countries whose papers are accepted for presentation may be eligible for competitive travel grants covering part of the cost of attending the conference.
Please indicate whether you would like your paper(s) to be considered for the Uma Lele prize on Gender, and/or for the TW Schultz / Nils Westermarck prizes for Best Contributed Oral / Visual Papers. Details of these prizes are given in the Appendix.

ORGANIZED SYMPOSIA

The Organized Symposia provide more flexibility than is available with Contributed Papers. We envisage that most of these proposals will include presentations that explore different, complementary aspects of a particular topic. Proposals that involve discussants with different points of view will be of particular interest.
Each Symposium organizer should complete the online form and enter the information requested. In addition she/he should prepare and upload a file in pdf summarizing the content of the proposal including: session title, session rationale, names and contact information for the organizer(s) and key participants, and a description of the symposium format that includes: the question to be examined; the approaches used to analyze this question; the format to be used; and plans for discussion.

INNOVATIVE PROPOSALS

Innovative proposals will also be welcomed. Potential formats for such sessions might include “Hard Talk” interviews modeled on the BBC show in which interviewees are subjected to penetrating questions by an interviewer and/or the audience; Wikithons in which a group writes content for a Wiki on a particular topic; a focused Master Class on a specific topic; Frontier Sessions in which a presenter introduces a relatively new topic, allowing at least 30 minutes for discussion from the audience; or establishment of a Genius Bar modeled on the technical support service at many Apple retail stores.
For Innovative Proposals, the organizer should fill the online form and enter the information requested. Please prepare and upload a file in pdf summarizing the content and format of the Innovative Proposal, including the information of key participants (First and Last Name, Organization, and email); the issues / questions to be examined; and the rational for the approach to be used.

PRE AND POST-CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS

Pre-Conference Workshops have traditionally played a very important role in opening the conference. Because they may be scheduled over a full day, they tend to provide greater opportunities than other session formats either to address an issue in greater depth, or to allow a wide range of perspectives to be considered. The Pre-Conference Workshops for ICAE 2015 will be held on Saturday, 8 August 2015.

There will also be opportunities for half-day Post-Conference Workshops to be held on the afternoon of Friday, August 14. While these have traditionally been less widely-used than the pre-Conference format, they provide an opportunity to discuss issues in more depth than a traditional session during the conference, and allow their organizers to take advantage of the fact that many participants will be in Milan until their flights depart on Saturday, August 15.

Proposals for these Workshops should complete the online form and prepare a pdf file summarizing the content and format of their proposed session; including informaiton on key participants (First and Last Name, Organization, and email); the issues/questions to be examined; and the rationale for the approach to be used.
